Legendary musician Jimmy Buffett, known for breakout hit “Margaritaville” and restaurant empire Margaritaville Café has died on Friday night, according to his official social media accounts and website.

“Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. “He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many,” the statement read.

The statement did not disclose his cause of death, but the singer-songwriter was hospitalized in May, causing him to reschedule his concerts, according to a previous post to X, formerly known as Twitter.

Buffet was 76, leaving behind his wife Jane Slagsvol and three children.

In addition, Buffet led a prolific music career, where he released 30 consecutive albums since 1970. He then turned to business, building a lifestyle empire of restaurants, apparel, beverages, and other ventures.

We all will remember his songs and sing along to them forever.  Rest In Peace Jimmy Buffett.
